Weather manipulation could be beneficial to society as we know it today. Rather than being in a drought, we could have rain. Rather than flooding, with a little manipulation, we could have sunshine. No more hurricanes making landfall, no ore tornado's ripping away our heartland. Tsunami's would be a thought of the past. How could all of this not be beneficial?

Now that we can see a few of the benefits let's try and decide if it would be worth it. No matter if you believe in a higher authority in life or the big bang theory you must agree that the earth as a whole of its parts requires all parts for sustainment.

Meaning just this, if we manipulate the weather then another part of our planet would have to be manipulated as well since all the parts of a whole work together.
Suppose we could make it rain in all the deserts, what would happen to the wildlife there that is not used to an excess amount of precipitation? The warm dry air that flows out of these regions would now be moist and damp. Would that not adversely affect the weather somewhere else? What if this moist damp air went to someplace that had to much precipitation already? More and possibly different kinds of bacteria would grow.

In a nutshell modifying the weather could help and be beneficial in a number of ways but would the benefits out weigh the costs? Could this be a 100% safe way to have the weather we want? No is the answer and it is relatively simple. No matter what we change our environment is still going to need to work it at its own time. Never mess with anything you do not have perfect control of.
