Living on a ski resort can be a great thing for people who need constant stimulation, and year round activities. Imagine the avid golfer, can you think of a better place for he or she to live, than a golf course? The same holds true for skiers, for many their ultimate goal is to live on or near a major ski resort.
The perks of living on a ski resort vary depend on the resort and its location, but most people who actually live on a resort are employees of the resort. The biggest perk of course is the close proximity to winter sporting events, and in many cases the people living on a ski resort eagerly await the first snowfall of the year and prep themselves for the day weeks (or months) in advance.
Many locals who live on a ski resort don't have to worry about purchasing a lift ticket because they are either given a substantial discount on the expense ticket, or included in the price of their maintenance fees. For those skiers looking for new or gently used equipment, shops are often only a few steps away. Another perk some find is that you never know when you'll find a celebrity skiing down the slope right next to you, especially in one of the larger resorts.
And most of all don't forget that the biggest perk to living on a ski resort is the close proximity to winter sports. Skiing, snowboarding, sledding; its all just a stone's throw from your back door.
