While driving, there are many different things you should take along with you. Some of the essentials include:
The Basics
Flashlight - Look for self-charging flashlights instead of battery dependent.
Jumper Cables - Traditional cables are a staple but also consider newer styles.
Tire Pressure Gauge - Learn to use this simple device & check regularly.
Spare Tire and Tire Iron - Tire irons with four sizes are best for their diversity.
Small Tool Set - Include screwdrivers, wrenches, and Electrical and Duct tape
Gloves - Light leather work gloves of sturdy gardening gloves.
First Aid Kit - Include some antiseptic ointment, 3 sizes of bandages, and gauze.
First Aid instruction Card - CPR and basic wound bandaging should be included.
Water - drinkable water for you and for use in your radiator.
Snack Food / Sealed Food - Avoid foods with lots of sugar or salt.
Small Towel - Cloth or heavy auto towel.
Road Flairs - Know how to use them and where to place them around the vehicle.
Blanket - Thermal or regular, preferably a large size.
Drivers of various other vehicle types will have different needs depending on the location they are traveling, the size of the vehicle, and the group they are traveling with.
