The headlines have been declaring the news all over the world. It is the most incredible find in recent history, they say. What makes it even more strange is that it appears that one of our favorite authors had some inside information; or perhaps he even had a relationship with some of the very creatures he wrote so prolifically about.

The author is J.R.R Tolkien, and the recent discovery is that of his main character, the Hobbit. Those furry footed creatures who have so endeared themselves to us. I don't know about you, but it brings me great comfort and joy to know that somewhere in our evolutionary history there existed these wonderful and resourceful munchkins. It gives me hope for mankind.

But what if the recently discovered Hobbit bones are merely an anomaly? What if they are simply the remains of one who became trapped in the world of us humans? Who's to say that Hobbits are just an evolutionary step to us? Have we ever really bothered to look for middle earth? Is it not entirely possible that J.R.R. had some inside knowledge of these adorable little creatures?

Think about it. They found one small skeleton! I mean, the proof of Hobbits existence could not possibly be in doubt, could it? Sure it's a strange discovery. Sure it may require a leap of faith to believe. But don't we believe more, based on much less than this?

Don't laugh it off. Remember they did the same thing to L. Ron Hubbard. And look at how that turned out.
