TAKE FIVE
Three bedrooms.
You're so pleased.
Where is he?
Gone?
Fall in love too fast
And play the fool.
I know it hurts.
They never love the same.
Lovers are unfaithful,
Friends are temporary.
Both fly like butterflies with silk wings,
Delicate and beautiful,
Worthy of this short love.
I send yellow blossoms
On the wind to follow.
There is one in your hair.
I'll keep sending flowers
Tied up in lengthy letters
Of neat script.
Do you treasure them?
Keep them in a box?
Or do you throw them out
To be recycled into another letter
Of sincere words and promises?
