Venetian Macau Resort, China

My mother and I have a wonderful stay at this hotel 11 - 13 Sep 2007.

Location:
The resort is only about 5 mins away from the aiport. It is surrounded by construction sites. It is about 20 mins to the Macau city. There is a free shuttle bus from Venetian Resort to Sands casino, departing every 10 mins from 10am. We took advantage of this service which is very convenient. There is also free shuttle buses to the airport and ferry terminal. I am actually happy to stay here, instead of the Macau city which is much more polluted.

Room:
We stayed in the Bella Suite, a very spacious and very luxurious suite. There is a large sitting area, 2 TVs, and a very large bathroom. The suite is beautiful, very clean and very new, and extremely comfortable.

Service:
Since the hotel is huge and there are so many guests, it's hard to expect very good service. I called the priority service a few times to ask some questions, the phone is answered very prompty. But I was disappointed that I could not get late checkout.

Food:
The hotel is right above a huge shopping mall with many restaurants. Buffet breakfast is served at Cafe Deco. It is quite average. There is a dim sum restaurant in the casino that is open 24 hour, but the dim sum selection is very limited. There is a food court at Level 3 which is the cheapest place to eat in the resort. The food is pretty good, I love the soy sauce chicken rice.

Resort:
If you like shopping malls like me, you will love this place. It's huge and beautiful. At this time only about 50% of the shops are opened. But I still enjoyed walking around. It's nice to see the gondolas on the canal.

Casino:
Massive and beautiful. Do not go to any other casinos in Macau after you have been to the Venetian, you will be disappointed. Countless slot machines here, many friendly attendants around to help you.

The resort is aimed at Chinese tourists, so try not to stay here during Chinese public holidays, school holidays, or weekends.
