The top sights to see in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Here's a recipe for a fantastic vacation. Take a prime location at the tip of Mexico's 1,000-mile long Baja California peninsula. Mix in spectacular scenery, amazing cuisine, great weather and non-stop activity. The result is a magical place called Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This jewel of a resort town boasts a splendid location on a bay where the Sea of Cortez meets and dances with the Pacific Ocean. Here, the golden rays of the sun cast their light on the bronze sand and pink cacti. This serendipitous combination of ecosystems: beach and desert, is a sight to behold. In the backdrop, the majestic La Laguna Mountains stand proud, as if to form a picture frame around this wondrous work of nature's art. Even without a camera, this image of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is one that will stay in you memory forever.

El Arco and Lover's Beach

Head to the Marina at Cabo San Lucas, where you will enjoy a glass bottom boat ride to The Arches, also known as El Arco. This fascinating stone arch marks the meeting of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. As you ride, the sea lions pop their heads out of the water to greet you. Some of the boat drivers even carry fish, in order to attract them to the boat. Occasionally, a pelican might decide to hitch a ride on your boat. Be sure to have your camera on hand. The boat to El Arco can also take you to Lover's Beach. If you choose to swim or snorkel, be sure to stay on the Sea of Cortez side. The waters of the Pacific Ocean can be rather fierce. After the boat ride, be sure to take a walk around the Marina, where local craftsman sell their wares. There is also a local wildlife organization. For a fee, you can have your photo taken with a lion cub.

The Westin Hotel Los Cabos, Mexico

Even if you are not staying at the Westin, this hotel is a sight to be seen. Resembling an enormous Mayan Palace, the famous architect, Javier Sordo Madaleno designed the lines, curves and color of the resort to blend and complement those that nature herself has created in Cabo. If you are taking a romantic vacation, you can have a private dinner on the beach. The hotel will provide a cabana, lanterns and blankets, in case it gets too cold.
The Westin Hotel is located in what is called the Tourist Corridor, which is an 18-mile highway that connects Cabo San Lucas with San Jose Del Cabo.

San Jose Del Cabo

If you are renting a car, be sure to take a day to visit San Jose del Cabo. This provincial Mexican town is characterized by its quaint pastel cottages, which are located on lovely tree-lined streets. San Jose del Cabo also has an interesting assortment of art galleries. Be sure to check out the Flamingo Restaurant. The avocado stuffed with crab meat is superb, and there are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe the seared tuna with mango sauce.
The sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Cabo San Lucas are bound to please all of your senses. Paradise awaits you. What are you waiting for?
