Tips and tricks for the lazy gardener

I'm disabled but my tips and tricks will work for the lazy guy too.I used to love to get out there on my day off and go crazy digging, hoeing and working up a sweat.
Now I have a lot more time to spend on gardening but not much strength.
So what to do? The answer is in choosing the right plants.

I have a real pal at Ace Hardware and Garden Center. He is a little old scottish
fellow named Thom . I buzz around the plants on my electric scooter and we have a good ole time planning my new "low maintenance garden".
I was upset at first because I couldn't take good care of the exotic beauties I had before.

Thom showed me that the easy grow flowers and plants are just as beautiful.
I started with a base of Texas Petunias. Thom says they are tougher than a witches
heart and just as hard to kill. They are purple and just grow all by themselves with no help from me. Then we added lantanas for a low filler. They are so strong they grow wild by the side of the dustiest highway.

Thom taught me how to put down mulch to keep from weeding so much. I planted two bird of paradise and they came up by the dozens . So planting something that perpetuates itself is another "Lazy" tip. Don't waste your time on annuals.
They are pretty but are gone in one season along with that nasty thing called "work".

I sit on my porch and enjoy a garden that is just as nice as the one I used to have. Lazy or not you don't need to break your back to have a great garden.
