The answer is only yes if the board use their head and stick with Martin Jol. He has brought wonders to the team since joining them in 2004. OK fair enough they haven't won anything but they have slowly improved every season since then.
In 2004/2005 season, Jol's first full season in charge got them within touching distance of the coveted Champions League until they lost the penultimate game of the season. Just the mention of Champions league football must've seemed like a dream to many of their followers.
In 2005/2006 they stayed fourth and in a Champions League position for the majority of the season, until once again they lost the last game of the season to West Ham. They still managed to qualify but for the less glamorous UEFA Cup. That in itself was something of an achievement as they hadn't qualified for any European competition for years before that.
Finally in 2006/2007 they managed to qualify for the uefa cup again, narrowly missing out on the Champions league again.
Some of you might be thinking that they seem to bottle it at the last minute, which to a degree they are doing but I just get the feeling that if Jol is left to carry on with what he is building at White Hart Lane then Tottenham can be part of Europe's elite. If the Board stay patient with him then Champions league qualification should only be a matter of years away.
I cant believe the board want to get rid of a manager that has got Tottenham out of the mediocrity of settling for 12th every season to a team that wants top European football. Yes granted they have had a poor start to the season, but they have probably been on just as bad a run in the middle of a season while hes been in charge and nothing has been said. its just its happened at the beginning of the season that an issue has been brought up.
Have faith and a little more patience and they will qualify.
