John Edwards, I wish you were more popular. I wish that everyone around the country could see your charming and engaging personality, and your quick wit. I wish that you were taken more seriously, and that people didn't constantly give you a hard time for running for president while your wife battles cancer. I wish people knew that she encouraged you to do so.

John Edwards, I wish more people got a glimpse of your politics back in 2004. I wish you could see how much I campaigned for you in the primaries that year, getting a cold and sore throat from going door to door in February. I wish more people had gone to your campaign website that year and could see that you would be a strong leader with a heart of gold.

John Edwards, I wish that your name stood out like Obama and Clinton, and that you appealed to every demographic. I wish people took the time to research you, since you get lost in the shuffle with the other candidates who are not in the lead, running for president. I wish I understood why people said you were too young in 2004, when your main competition this year is 8 years your junior.

But, what I really want to say, John Edwards, is thank you. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to a demographic that has long ignored you and politics in general. Thank you for being active in MTV's Choose or Lose campaign, and allowing the myspace generation to really hear what you have to say. Thank you for trying to bring us back on the scene, and letting us know that you haven't written us all off as a bunch of lazy punks who would rather vote for American Idol than for our next president. Thank you, sir.

You, John Edwards, rock.
