Today you can find great deals on flights and many free places to go once your reached your destination - but paying to stay is a completely different story. It can be very tricky to find a great hotel without spending an arm and a leg. Luckily, I know the trick...

If you have ever used www.priceline.com you know that you can find great deals - but you just never know where you might get stuck staying. You don't have much of a say in the location or ammenties of your hotel. BUT what you don't know is there is a great website you can use to find out how you can use Priceline to your advantage. If you go to www.biddingfortravel.com you can look up any location and see what the hotels are going for. This way you know which hotels you will likely get if you bid a certain amount. How it works is that priceline users will complete their bids and then post what hotels they got in what locations along with what they bid. The website works great if you want to see what kind of hotel you will likely get!

For instance I was on the other day looking for hotels in Newport Beach, CA. I wanted something directly on the beach, but close to my convetion site. So, I use www.biddingfortravel.com. This allowed me to see that the Marriot Beach Resort and Spa was getting bids accepted at $80 a night. $80 a night for a 4 star beach resort is all but unprecedented. Had I not seen this, I might have paid the $250 the hotel was asking. I saved my company over $400!
