As a person that has consumed a fair amount of soy protein in his life, I can definitely point out the many benefits. These benefits alone are one reason that many people tend to make a transition towards soy based products. There are plenty of soy based products for drinking and consumption available out in the market today. As a result, I do get a fair amount of soy protein in my daily diet.
Soy milk is an excellent alternative to regular milk as they contain the same essential vitamins and amino acids. This seems to be a healthier alternative as whole milk tends to be loaded with fat. Many Asians lack the enzymes to handle lactose from personal experience which is one reason I lay off the whole milk. Low fat milk helps a bit but there are still the side effects.
Asides from getting the necessary vitamins and amino acids from soy milk, it reduces chances of flatulence amongst people whom cannot handle lactose that well. This is one of the reasons that soy protein makes up a great substitute for milk protein.
The same can be said in the case of meat proteins. Soy protein in the form of tofu and other meat substitutes more than make up a viable substitute for meat protein. Soy substitutes in the form of burger patties and other meat products tend to be healthier than the actual meat products themselves.
Both soy milk and soy-derived meat substitutes complete the amino acid profile which is a major benefit of soy protein.
For those whom get older, soy protein helps reduce the risks of heart related diseases.
There are meal replacements that do utilize soy protein. You can mix it with either milk or soy milk. This alone is supposed to have twice the protein of an egg but is supposed to be healthier. As a result, I tend to use the meal replacements for breakfast. I myself would opt to get a pouch of Carnation Instant Breakfast and mix it with either milk or soy milk. There, I got my required proteins and amino acids.
A good number of soy protein services can lower your LDL cholesterol. Low density lipoprotein cholesterol is the bad time and you do not want that type in your body. That's the type of cholesterol that leads to heart attacks and heart diseases. At the same time, it leaves your HDL cholesterol alone.
Consumption of soy protein also fights the risk of prostate cancer, colon cancer, and osteoporosis. In short, you're going to get healthier and stronger bones. As you get older, it's very important that you consume more soy protein in your life. Loss of bone density is very dangerous.
For females the regular consumption of soy protein helps fight off the symptoms of menopause. One study says that menopause seems to be "nonexistent" in Japan as soy products such as soy beans and tofu are consumed on a daily basis. For those who are at a point in their life where they are subject to hot flashes, they should consider regular consumption of soy products or to start drinking soy milk.
There are no known risks with consuming soy protein. In short, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by regular consumption of soy protein.
