Talking about Tottenham breaking into the top four this year is like wishing upon a star. The team is good - yes. The manager is a good one - yes again. So what is the problem? For some reason things aren't just going their way. Probably just a bad start to the season. Whatever the case, it will still take a whole lot o wishing for tottenham to make it this season. Maybe next season - if the team hit the ground running. But for this season a trend is forming already. Although Arsenal hasn't really been tested yet, there is the general feeling that the team will be in the top four, dare I say the top three, come the end of the season. I sincerely think a fifth place finish is as good as it gets for Martin Jol and his "disjointed" men this season.
For one the team needs to get behind the manager in action - not just words. There needs to be an end to all the rumour or talk about Defoe leaving.
Something seems to be happening to Paul Robinson. He is supposed to be the No. 1 keeper for England, but time and time again he is being beaten of recent - except for the Carling cup match against Middlesbrough; another team not really firing on all cylinders. (Where is McClaren when you need him?)
There is potential for the team. Great quality there. However everyone needs to get together and begin to gel as one unit to go higher.
Once again; top four? Better luck next year Mr. Jol
