I went along with you when you added the first dollar in taxes to my pack of cigarettes. I even went along with you when you added the second dollar. I was pretty much in agreement when you banned smoking in restaurants. I was definitely not happy about the ban creeping into the realm of bars and clubs. ALL PUBLIC PLACES followed soon after. But now you have crossed the line.
I am the poster child for smoking etiquette. Well, actually you have no choice but to be polite these days, SINCE YOU CAN'T SMOKE ANYWHERE! But before that, I was a trend setter. I always asked permission to smoke, even in my own home. I never, ever leave my butts anywhere, as a matter of fact, my dryer always has a big pile of them after I've done my laundry, since I usually forget to take them out of my pockets. I am nothing but nice.
Why then, am I persecuted, and treated like a leper? I was at a baby shower recently, and went outside to smoke. Upon returning to the room, someone yelled out, "You stink!" That is inexcusable. And people say smokers are impolite! I have done everything within my power, not to involve others in my habit, but it's just not good enough.

Your zeal in policing us smokers is quite apparent. On those occasions when I have been told to extinguish my cigarette, it has been done with the attitude of a third grader on his first day as hall monitor. There are so many sins you can't control, but going after this one seems to be working out for you. Oh, but that doesn't mean you should relax your standards, oh no, why not go COMPLETELY over the top!
Over the top is exactly where you've gone. I just heard a commercial on TV that said, "Second hand smoke could be entering your apartment through your LIGHT BULBS!"
That is so absurd, I can NOT stop laughing. That commercial is what inspired me to write to this post. Even if it were true, do you think that it contains even a tiny fraction of the toxins you happily breath everyday? Glue, paint, medication, perfume, cleaning agents, gasoline, exhaust, industry waste, cow burps, I could go on and on. I guarantee you, every single item on that list is a million times more toxic to your lungs than smoke that comes out of your light bulbs! But you LIKE to drive your car, you LIKE your amenities, so those things don't count. Smoking stinks! wah, wah! You are the
