The political union of Europe from Lisbon to the whole Russia, including, of course, the typically Asian Siberia, is not only a "good idea", but also an urging necessity.

- Political reasons.

The political union of Europe is the final step of a process started after the end of the carnage caused by W. W. II, a tragedy I would define as the last European civil war, as others have done in the recent past. This union would avoid all the bloody conflicts caused by the nationalisms of the recent past, as happened in the former Yugoslavia only 5 years ago.

Our continent (who's writing is Italian) would have more political influence with an unique foreign policy to resolve pacifically all the international conflicts around the world, as the US can't or want to do. Not by chance, the last conflicts in Europe, the wars in the former Yugoslavia immediately after its dissolution started in the Balkans, the most unstable part of our continent still excluded from the UE for political and economic reasons. So, it was possible to see again horrible things we believed buried in the history of W.W. II like the ethnic cleaning, the lagers for prisoners, the massacres in towns and villages by irregular militias and regular armies, the bombardment by NATO aircrafts of an European capital like Beograd, the capital of Serbia, in 1999.

- Economic reasons.

Europe has made many steps in the direction of its economic union, but we still need a better protection for our high quality typical products against all the fakes and low quality and safety products coming from other continents and from the same Europe.
Euro is the most visible achievement of UE in economics, after having replaced many national currencies, too weak against inflation and speculation with an unique currency, today a valid alternative to the US dollar in the international commerce.

Another fundamental achievement of the UE is the elimination of the internal borders for commerce, so that all goods reaching the UE borders (harbours, airports or land borders) from other continents can freely circulate across all the member Countries without other customs formalities, to be directly sold on the markets or used by the industries to produce new goods. This has reduced much the costs for industrial and trade companies at every level. Moreover, it's really good to pass from Italy to France or Germany and Spain without changing currency anymore!

- Laws.

Regarding laws, we still need common rules in many important fields and
