"Discovering Belief in Spring"
I walked naked along the river
Barren branches reaching deep
into the Earth
Limbs holding "life" steady
Rapt by the unmasked power
Bearing evidence to human strength
A soul once walking under heavy clouds
I learned to live again
Reaching out
I leaned toward the light
as tender blossoms spoke
Unblemished under the heavens
I shifted the moon
and caught the stars
As cosmic dreams took wing
I found the key to unlock my spirit
severing the rope
Setting my captive heart free
I grasped the revival of hope
Discovering belief in spring
As the gaping void disappeared
Whispered affirmation
of promised pleasures fell at my feet
Away from sorrows and fear
And no petal shall be scorched
by sun
~again
