Even the best relationships go through "dry spells", where the sex isn't as passionate and the romance seems to have lost its spark, but don't fret, with time, effort and the following tips, you'll be back on track in no time.
Be Spontaneous
Remember back to those first few dates, when your stomach was in knots and your heart was a-flutter...what was different then, besides your age? Spontaneity! When we're young and just starting out in a relationship, we don't know what to expect or when to expect it, but as we clock more relationship hours, we begin to fall into a routine that sometimes threatens to extinguish that passionate spark. Even if you've both got full time jobs, kids, a busy household, there is always time to be spontaneous. Send your partner a sexy text or voice message and send the kids off to a babysitter before he/she gets home from work, or make a dinner reservation at his/her favorite restaurant...food is a great aphrodisiac!
Make Time
Making time for your partner is very important, as we all know how easy it is to get caught up in our own lives, feelings etc. Try to set aside at least a couple hours a day where you and your partner can connect, either doing an activity you both like, having a great conversation, or even watching a movie. You'll be surprised what kind of an effect this added "closeness" in your lives has in the bedroom.
Romance
No, this isn't just for the women, men need romance too! Romance boils down to the act of being "selfless", thinking about your partners needs, wants and desires before you think about your own. Sure, you might not be a big fan of curling up on the couch and watching a rented movie, but your partner is and that is what makes it romantic. Don't forget the small things, as romance isn't just about flowers and candy, it can be just as romantic to get home from work and find a clean house and a partner waiting on the couch with some scented oil ready to give you a foot massage.
Learn What Makes Your Partner Tick
One of the largest complaints that people have about their partners is that their partners don't understand how to please them, both in the relationship and in the bedroom. Sitting down and having an honest conversation about the things that you like and dislike about your relationship can be the perfect jump-start for a lacking sexual relationship. Pay attention.
Don't Be Afraid To Try Something New
No, this doesn't mean that you have to run out to the local Adult toy-store, though that can be fun too, it just means that you have to be open to suggestions as to things that your partner might like to try. Fantasies are made to be fulfilled, and there is no better place to do this than in a loving relationship.
In the end, the best way to revitalize a boring sex life is simply to be open to doing so...remember to focus on the things that make your partner happy in life and you will find that the bedroom will be a happier place!
