Wearing fur is not immoral

Since the inhumane slaughter of animals for fur is forefront in the media, it takes a fairly headstrong person to wear a mink coat or lynx jacket in public. The morality lies in the notion that someone is willing to parade themselves around town in something that offends others.

It is not offensive to the watching eye, for fur is beautiful, and it feels absolutely luxurious. But, that same fur looked even better on the animal from which it was stripped.

Whether you love wild creatures or not, nature has its place. And it seems as though sacrificing some of the earth's most beautiful creatures for the sake of fashion is just wrong.

Protesting, anti-fur activist groups are in action all over the world. They have made their voices loud and clear. There is an overall outlook towards the fur trade that holds negative connotations. And, this is one movement that people do not join just to be "on the trendy bandwagon". They are passionate about the movement.

There are serious issues as to how fur is harvested from animals. In order to produce an authentic fur coat, animals are sometimes trapped by evil devices that torture them. Or even worse, there are farms that raise the selected animal just to slaughter them for a luxury trade. It must not be denied that most people who wear fur are surely aware of this. The media coverage is just too vast to be ignorant about the issue.

So, you want to be a fashion diva? Fine. That is your preference. More people SHOULD strive to dress better, just to take pride in making themselves look and feel better. But, there are enough materials made today and enough styles to choose from that fur can be left out of your wardrobe.
