Oh, I'm sorry, for a sec there I thought you were talking about church and state. What?! Oh... Oh I see. Hmm... should we FORCE someone to pretend to like someone else through strong arming them with taxes? Why SURE of course that will work! I mean, why would MAKING someone go AGAINST their religion just to make taxes more fun NOT work?

I will probably get stoned in some circles for this but here is a secret - (Gay people don't bother me)! I would love nothing more than to have some of my good friends come to church, and go to a church that is open armed about it. Belive me, that would be good for everyone.

However, forcing any sort of view or position onto someone else never works. Which is why we don't do that. People will just resist all the more when their options are taken away.

In time, people will see that hey, just because they are not traditional doesn't mean that people (who happen to be giving, and loving) will burn in hell just because they love someone other than who you think they should.

Can the government do it? I am sure they will try on some level. Should they do it? No. You can't force someone to change their minds, there are better ways to deal with it.
