Learning disabilities: What is dyslexia?

Dyslexia can be very broad in sense of its manifestations, signs and presenting problems. Generally, Dyslexia is a form of learning difficulty which enables a child to experience difficulty in reading letters, words and group of words. Dyslexia, on the other hand is very hard to diagnose, i takes a mature age level, understanding and comprehension.

Dyslexia is not a disability but rather a difficulty in processing of information from outside to inside and eventually the outcome which most of the time incongruent to the source outside. Essentially, the difficulty depends on how the brain process information, how the brain reads it and how the brain produces an outcome.

Basically, the scenario is when a child sees a letter, for instance, small letter b, the way the brain processed the information is immaturely unregistered to the brain, the child might see it as letter p, d or even number 9. In this manner, the brain has a unavailable authentication of the letters of symbols. This, difficulty gives a child a hard time decoding letters. More problems arise, when a child is given with a word or group of words. Imagine the difficulty for a child to read a single letter, how much more when he or she is given with more words.

Also, a child might encounter difficulty following instructions. They experienced a hard time following multiple tasks. A child with dyslexia appears confused and restless due to their problems in coping with multi tasks. However, these children are well known in other aspects of learning and they do well in activities that do not require difficult patterns of understanding and comprehension.

Common treatments for dyslexia are now available and produce a great help for children in coping in school. It is also important to note that the treatment for dyslexia is very individualized and must be based on a child's age level and comprehension.
