are habituating, it's known they tend to lose their effectiveness if used regularly and you don't want someone to become dependent on them, because in that setting it can be extremely difficult to stop," says Dr. James Wright, director of the Therapeutics Initiative.

"People who start these drugs are often not warned that, when they do stop, they can expect to have withdrawal effects," including insomnia, anxiety, tremors and confusion - symptoms that can last for weeks or months, Wright says.

Interesting bit of information for us all to take into consideration when thinking about using medication as opposed to the self-help method.

It is human nature some people say for us to want what we see and are told is a quick fix and a no effort on our part "cure" for anxiety and its related disorders. However, even though we suffer from a very powerful and stubborn disorder,we still can think and use our minds to make our own informed decisions. Anxiety pills can be used to help us but do not discount your own power to help yourself.
