Eager parent wants to have the best for their baby but what do you 'really' need?
1. A Secure, Certified, and Correctly Installed Car Seat!
Many maternity hospitals will not let your baby leave the hospital unless your car has been correctly fitted with a certified car seat. Make sure you get your baby home safely and ensure their car travel comfort for the coming years.

2. Diapers
Disposable diapers can be expensive and create an environmental issue but they are easier and quicker to use. Cloth diapers are time consuming and lead to excess laundry but are reusable and better for your child's skin. Keep some diaper rash cream for those times when irritation occurs.

3. Crib and Bedding
It is important for parents to have a crib available. Even if you opt to cosleep there will be occasions when you would prefer your baby wasn't in your bed.

5. Breast or Bottle Feeding Products
Even if you are a firm breast-is-best supporter you will want a supply of bottles, nipples and a breast pump. Breastfeeding mothers should have breast pads, a nipple shield and lanolin cream to treat and prevent nipple damage. Some mothers benefit from a specially shaped breastfeeding pillow, breast milk storage and bottle sterilization products. If you choose to bottle feed you'll need to carefully consider which formula to use. Ask your pediatrician for advice.

6. Towels and Cloths
Your baby is going to make a mess and it's a good idea to be prepared with bath towels and face clothes.
7. Baby Transport
There are a range of prams, infant carriers or slings available. Parents should spend time choosing the right product for their lifestyle. Consider: the kind of travel, the size of your car, the ease of storage, and your family's comfort and safety.
