Poetry: Fairies

sitting in a tree eating cold kedgeree
listening to sweet soul music with glee
heartbeat racing while its smiling away
like a Cheshire cat eating curds and whey
golden leaves gently falling to the ground
as the drift making a crisp rustling sound
puddy cats padding about in the long grass
hunting and stalking avoiding broken glass
magpies and crows squawking in search of food
a long time passed looking after their brood
dandelion seed blowing on the wind
to settle and live new life to bring
sitting in a tree eating cold kedgeree
listening to sweet soul music with glee
pixies around camp fires brewing cups of tea
plenty to go round, even a spare cup for me
sweet tasting beverage, is good to the lips
nodding my approval, no need to speak tween sips
smoke drifting up with aroma of cedar-wood
inhaling and exhaling the remains as i should
giving a haziness to the surroundings as it bites
head gong giddy as it takes effect
calmness ensuring time to reflect
sitting in a tree eating cold kedgeree
listening to sweet soul music with glee
twilight approaches and fairies start to dance
twirling and twisting as they prance
disturbing the smoke from the fires
shapes emerging and reforming as it transpires
i see dead people, oh it is not really so
wonder if this is how you feel if you smoke blow
sitting, relaxing and drifting away
the smoke effecting my head making me sway
pixies and fairies partying along
the air full of music and their song
so here i am wasting time, listening
the bird song mingling with the party air
time passing by, without a care in space
watching the atmosphere full of grace
sitting in a tree eating cold kedgeree
listening to sweet soul music with glee........
