Feminism is dead. Long live feminism.
The original feminist movement had many laudable reasons for coming into existence. The need for society to come out of the stone age and treat women as equals in the business world being the primary one, as well as creating equal opportunities for educational opportunities.
But it went too far, and feminists did not adjust to the realities of the logic-driven business sphere, but many instead sought to cast it in their image. And with that, lost all possibility of being taken very seriously by the males inhabiting that world, and helped create the glass ceiling that keeps them from entering the upper echelons.
Feminism has been co-opted, like most movements of its kind, by the radical fringe who managed to shout down any dissenting voices in the ranks. Andrea Dworkin, in what ever rank of the netherworld you are inhabiting, thank you for trying to make women hate men.
And that's where the modern feminist movement lies. Women hating men. Men distrusting women in the work place. Discussions of sexual issues that revolt men are commonplace and acceptable while male-driven discussions of a similar nature get men terminated from jobs.
Yes, the inroads made by the movement were valuable and important. But the movement has lost all credibility by failing to police itself
