There are no ways to lose weight which would be considered "easy" by today's standards.
Today's world has made it extremely difficult to remain healthy, let alone stay "in shape," a term that seems reserved nowadays for health fanatics who truly get their money's worth out of that gym membership. The most obvious problem is the abundance and accessability of fast food when compared to the expense and trouble involved in finding, enjoying, and continuing to eat healthy food. It is simply too troublesome to the hardworking people of today's world to go out of their way looking for healthy options when the unhealthy ones are so much easier and faster to obtain.
The other big problem is that we have become a fast-paced, hard-working, no-vacations world. People are working so hard, but no longer are they working in physically demanding jobs. We have become a world of cubicles and corner-offices; we sit all day every day, and IF we take that lunch break we are entitled to (instead of microwaving something or hitting the snack machine) we are going to go for the closest, cheapest, fastest thing so that we can get back to work...and we've already covered what that is.
In order to lose weight, a person must fight against these odds. To some, it may seem easy...I've met and myself happen to be one of those individuals who manage to make eating right and excercising a part of their LIFESTYLE, but that is the trick: losing weight, and actually KEEPING it off, requires a lifestyle change. It requires going that extra mile, saying no to the 39 cent cheeseburgers, looking for and paying for better foods, learning how to enjoy those foods (which often invovles cooking, another dying skill), and finding time in your day where you're not too tired or too busy to go out for a walk or do some aerobics. It invovles doing this every day for the rest of your life, because once you stop, you fall into the old loop again. For the masses, those people who have fallen into the "easy" lifestyle, this is not an easy change, so there are no easy ways to lose weight and keep it off.
I mean, come on, even starving yourself is hard, isn't it?
