Southern California a fantastic region for a fishing trip as miles of its area is coastline, with plenty of inland lakes and rivers. From the month of April-October catches like barracuda, yellowtail, and bass from the deep sea can be reeled, while in summer albacore tuna appears.

There are five different kinds of trout

7. Yellow fin
8. Skipjack tuna.

Fishing boats leave from the southern California ports to sail the open waters of the Pacific for deep sea fishing as well as sport fishing.

Huntington Beach
Grunion are small silvery fish averaging 5 6 inches in length that jump completely out of the water and spawn only at night on Southern California beaches. Grunion lay their eggs in the wet sand for a few hours on six to eight nights per month from March through August, following the highest tide associated with a full or new moon.

A California state sport fishing license is required by all the participants over the age of 16. One can get their Licenses at over 2,000 different sporting goods stores, boat companies, and bait and tackle shops in the region.
