Short stories: Fantasy

The girl sighed as she leaned against the sliding door of her house. She combed a hand through her already long, messy dark brown hair, as she looked up into the starry night sky. She sat on the small concrete slab that acted as a step in to her backyard, and in her hands she held a pen and a sheet of paper with nothing written on it.
She sighed again, golden-brown eyes turning back to study the blank sheet of white.

Jesus, just write something Kim!' she thought. After a bit more staring, she sighed a third time.
"What am I supposed to write? Hey everybody! My life is boring as all hell! I love my job, but have no friends! How are you guys?' Yeah, right." Kim thought aloud. She turned to look at the clock on the inside of her small home. The still ticking hands read 10:30.
"Guess I should go inside and get some sleep." She mumbled to herself, standing to go inside. She had opened the door and had her foot in it when she heard far off shouting and a hard thwump' a few feet away. She looked to the source of the sound, waiting for eyes to adjust to the low light of the night. After a moment she spotted a form lying in the grass. She immediately dropped her pen and paper and ran over to the body.
The person had short, light hair that stuck up in all directions, so she assumed it was a boy. He wore strange clothing, something that looked like a peasant from the middle ages. Kim looked him over, checking for injuries.
He lifted his head weakly and looked at her with tired, emerald green eyes. On top of his head, something moved.
She sucked in a startled gasp at the two ears sitting atop the boys' head, swiveling to pick up the sound like cats ears, which was exactly what they looked like.
Her head shot up when she heard a thump come from her fence and loud shouting from the other side.
She looked back down at the body in front of her.
"Shh, lay, your head down buddy, you're gonna be alright now." She whispered to him softly.
She stood and walked over to the wooden fence, standing on a bucket to see over it. On the other side, she spotted 4 burly looking teens, pounding on her fence and yelling at each other. The sickly scent of alcohol reached her, and she glared down at them.
She cleared her throat loudly, getting all of their attentions.
"Get off my property before I call the cops." Kim stated simply. The muscle heads seemed to get it, and left, mumbling at each other. Kim grinned to herself and looked at her charge, who seemed to have fallen unconscious. Deciding that
