Change and how people deal with it

by Ho Tin

Most people are unwilling to accept changes with an open heart. It is normal. After the brain and body have repeatedly carried out the same job over a long period of time, the job will be registered in the brain under the sub-conscience section. It will be difficult to change something after it has already gone into the comfort zone. To some people, accepting change is like asking the ear to ingest and the mouth to hear.

The first reaction of most people is to resist, resist the change, and continue to resist the change. Most people will have this thought in their mind. "I have done this since day one. I have always done this and it has always worked out well. So why is there a need to change?"

When resisting the change, the mind and eyes will start to see nothing but the disadvantages of the change. When people try ways and means to avoid the change, they will be blind and unable to see the benefits the change will lead to.

Some people can carry out the change and perform the job but deep down in their head, they still resist the change.

Slowly, bit by bit, over a long period of time, people will slowly get used to the new changes and gradually accept the change. Different people take different length of time to accept and practice the change. After the person has seen the benefits of the change, he or she will be able to fully accept and understand the reason behind the change.
