There's a lot of ways to do tile floors it's so easy you can do it yourself your basic tools are a tile saw which you can rent one or you can pick a small one up for about $20.00 bucks which is cheaper than renting one its small but it gets the job done. Then you will need a tile trowel and the size spacers that you want for the size grout lines you want a inch is a good size and it looks good with grout but there's what ever size fits you. And then your sponge to wipe off the tiles when you grout. Now to prep your floor you can get a floor scraper at your hardware store your floor down to the surface take any splash guard that is on the walls. Then your ready to tile now if your got wooden floors there's thin set for it if you got concrete floors then you use thin set for concrete. Once you pick out your tile grout and thin set and the spacers your ready to lay some tile. You can mix your thin set in a five gallon bucket. Now where you what to start you can start any where you want I always start from the far corner so your cut end up under the kitchens counters. You got your then set ready and you pour some out and use your trowel to spread it out go about two tiles out and start laying your tile down use your spacers to keep the gaps the same and keep it in a straight line lay all the full tiles first let them set 24 hours then come back and do your cuts. You can put a tile around the wall for a splash guard or you can put coving back on. Now your ready to grout pull up all the spacers then mix your grout thick not to thin because it will crack you use a rubber trowel to spread your grout in all around the tile then sponge off the access let set for 24 hours then put down your carpet strips if needed and your done. Now put some sealer on it and you did your first tile job good luck.
