Greenhouse gases are a concern that our children must deal with. Although there are natural and artificial sources, it's the artificial sources that are of the greatest concern.
The burning of fossil fuels combined with deforestation have put the composition of the atmosphere out of balance. While it is true that the composition of the atmosphere does vary somewhat, there are natural sinks that help to even things out. Not only have we increased the amount of carbon dioxide going into the atmosphere, but we've also decreased the natural sink, mainly trees.
Personally, I am getting tired of politicians who have no scientific knowledge of climates or climate change telling me that there is no problem. While I concur that using a global average to monitor the Earth's temperature is not an ideal method of measuring the affects of global warming, we only need to look at some of the other obvious signs to see that global warming is a fact.
The evidence is mounting. We have seen the loss of ice in the Polar Regions. Glaciers on all continents have seen drastic reductions in size. And all of this has occurred over a very short time period, the last 200 years. It is obvious to those who don't have an interest in global warming being considered a myth that the burning of fossil fuels is one of the major contributors to the problem. Look very hard at those who push the idea that global warming is a myth. Their pocketbooks will suffer if the world starts to demand that the global warming problem is link to an increase in carbon dioxide.
