Yet another online 'give up your day job' which promises the earth and delivers very little!
Bitter? Moi? Only a lot!
I have been carrying out online surveys for near on a year now and have not made anything like what was promised. Many sites I have signed up with are paying in points, which are then redeemed for vouchers, although there are a couple which do pay via cheque or PayPal. I was bitten by the make money online bug last year - why should I work everyday for less pay than I deserve, when according to much you read online many, many people from all walks of life are earning 5+ figures sums on a regular monthly basis? Unfortunately I guess I was a little naive, how come I don't actually know anybody who has succeeded at any of these ventures.
There are an awful lot of sites out there who charge you to sign up with them and then give you the names of the actual companies looking for people to participate in their market research campaigns. Although most of the companies listed by these sites are genuine, I find it very hard to believe that people make anywhere near the amounts of money that these middle men advertise. While it is possible to make a little extra pin money, or get vouchers from some useful stores, I would not bank on giving up your day job just yet. Maybe it is different in the USA, maybe the UK and the rest of the world need to catch up with online market research. One BIG tip for anyone looking to start taking part in online surveys, do not sign up with these sites which ask for money, if you sign up to the sites direct, they are free to join! Do a search on your favourite engine for paid surveys, paid online market research or similar and save yourself a few dollars or check out www.make-loadsa-money.co.uk/pa idsurveys for some great sites which are free to join!
Another huge scam online at the moment which is catching a lot of people out (myself included I'm embarrassed to say L) is the explosion of Paid To' sites. These are sites which offer money to members for reading emails (PTR), clicking on banner ads on their site (PTC) and signing up to other sites or offers. Some of these sites are offering silly money per email (anything up to $2000) per email read, and although they have a very high payout threshold, they are generally very easy to reach, however these sites do not pay. It is easy to see why we do get caught out by these scammers, who wouldn't want to earn up to $2000 for 150 seconds spent on a website?, but before you sign up to any sites of this nature, do a quick search on an SE, guaranteed you will come across at least a handful of forums which will explain that these sites are scams, also go onto the site and check out what they charge advertisers for each type of advertising, if this is less or equal to what they say they will credit each member who visits this ad, then it is surely a scam. However, that said, most of these sites will redeem your earnings for advertising, so there are some benefits. There are also some sites out there which do pay however, these are sites which payout a hell of a lot less money generally a fraction of a cent per action, so although you can make money this way, it is certainly not something you'd be able to retire on anytime soon!
The net is full of online money making scams the only ones getting rich are those who thought them up and started the website in the first place as the old saying goes if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!'
