Independence, mystery, magnetism and beauty... we are not talking about qualities to look for in a woman but we are referring to the alluring qualities of furry felines. Because whoever is looking to adopt a feline will have for sure all these qualities granted. Guaranteed... But not only.

Along will come many other qualities that only who owns a cat will learn to fondly cherish, because evidently they have found in their feline companion a sweet treasure to hold and love for a very long time. When we compare cats to dogs then all the cat's qualities will be magnified like seeing differences black on white.

Cats first of all are very clean pets, very good for who who want to maintain a very clean home as they are very "hyper-hygienic" pets. There are many hygiene qualities that put dogs on a much lower level. Dogs first of all tend to have by nature a very odorous skin scent. You may be able to find right away who owns a dog as this distinguishing smell gets on their coats, clothes, hair.

Very hardly may you smell a cat, unless their litter box is not cleaned daily or there is an neutered male spraying urine around. Dogs also may entertain themselves in a habit called "coprophagia" in other words they may decide to eat their own feces, another good thing to keep in mind next time a dog comes to lick your face. Dogs may have "anal glands" that need expressed every other week. Anal glands are scent glands that excrete a very malodorous liquid of a strong fishy smell. Dogs also may develop "embarrassing habits of using their owner's legs" and dog owners know what I am talking about without needing to go into details.

Cats are discreet, independent will not need to be taken out to do their own business. I have owned kittens that learnt how to use the litter box in 1-2 days, really amazing when compared to the months puppies take to learn not to soil the house. Cats are relaxing creatures to watch and make you feel comfy, dogs are all around you, always in your face and too hyper. Cats are also stronger creatures, I have always seen more dogs than cats come to the animal hospital I worked at, they have more sensitive stomachs and also age earlier. I have seen cats live up to 21, dogs usually are gone 7-8 years earlier. Cats age gracefully, dogs seem to suffer more in their geriatric years, soiling the home and not able to walk and act themselves. I have seen cats jump around and play the night prior to their departure.

Cats are more independent, they can stay longer away from their owners, dogs are needy and cannot stay long without suffering. Outdoor cats are amazing in survival, they are street smart while dogs rarely can make it on their own without human help. They say dogs are very attached to their owner and cats are not, however I have seen many dogs boarding while their owners are on vacation and they would be fine with just about anybody. I have seen owners pick up their dogs after weeks and their dogs would just ignore them and pay more attention to the boarding facility staff. Dogs can bite, cause severe wounds and even kill lethally, many have killed children.

I know dogs have also many qualities, they search and rescue, help seize drugs, rehabilitate and much more, but personally, I am a cat person, and nobody will change my mind. Independence, mystery, magnetism and beauty are too big qualities for me and cat owners know, there is much more than that. Guaranteed....
