as that of your loved ones, should not be taken for granted.
Her work has appeared in the Medjugorje USA Highlighter Newsletter (Trusting in God's Will 2007). Her honors include "Book of the Week" in October of 2006 by PublishAmerica of Maryland and the "Book of the Month" for April 2007 by Allbooks Review of Canada.
These days Mrs. Sequeira is working on her second novel, tentatively titled, "The Fading Sun" which is also based on a true story. This one will deal with a family's struggle with alcoholism. When she is not writing, she is passing on her knowledge of the publishing process.
I had the honor of being in a writer's workshop that she taught at the Lakeville Public Library. She went over how to outline your story, editing, grammar, publication, promoting and more. After the workshop I had the opportunity to interview her for a story written in the Lakeville Call. One of the most honorable things she expressed was not only encouragement for writer's to share their stories, but how everyone should support their public libraries.
Since libraries in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are in jeopardy, she pleads that everyone donate something, even if it is only spare change. "Libraries have too much to offer, not only for the adults, but for the young children, to have their doors close," said Sequeira, "It has to affect people individually for them to take notice."
Alberta Sequeira has proven to me just how wonderful a person she is in just a few days time. She is intelligent, creative and someone who genuinely likes to help others.
"My relaxation comes from reading when there is spare time, which is not too often," Sequeira said, "I enjoy gardening, when my energy and legs permits, social events, and my greatest joy is writing to touch the hearts of readers."
Alberta Sequeira is scheduled for a book signing Sept. 29, 2007 at the Barnes & Noble at 150 Granite St. in Braintree, MA. Visit her website at www.ahealingheart.net.
