It's fairly safe to say that this should be a debate about whether or not Americans would like to see OJ flee the US instead.

To start, O. J. Simpson is not completely stupid as we might give him credit for being; misguided perhaps or insane as a stretch but not stupid. American soil is his breeding ground for media attention that he would not otherwise be able to obtain anywhere else in the world. If he were in other parts of the world committing the same crimes, he would not be a spectacle to society. There would be no headlines on O. J. Simpson. Rather he would be dealt with accordingly behind closed doors per a given country's justice system which in some places can be rather barbaric.

When he was on trial for the murders of his wife and her friend, if he had wanted to flee as things were unfolding, he certainly would have. The chase in the Bronco doesn't count as that was our first look at Simpson being a desperate man who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. He wanted us to believe he was at the end of his rope due to everything going on and he used that incident coupled with the endless hours of media coverage during it all to achieve his goal. It was a mere attempt to try and have us sympathize with him or better yet change the minds of those in society who had tried him in the media before the actual verdict came down.

While celebrities may claim that the media is not their friend or wish the media would just leave them alone, many have used the media as a resource for promoting the private agendas of their personal affairs. Granted in some cases, some of the media attention is truly unwarranted. However, celebrities could quiet themselves and the media if they really wanted to O. J. Simpson is no exception to this. Instead of going away quietly and resorting to living life abroad after his acquittal, he remained in the limelight as much and as often as possible. It hasn't been enough for O. J. Simpson to just go away quietly as much as we would have liked to see that occur. He put us through yet another trial, a civil trial brought on by the Goldman and Brown families. He tried his hand at writing a book claiming how he would have killed his wife and her friend if he had committed the crimes. And of course, his latest escapade was the armed robbery & kidnapping charges against him over a situation that took place in Las Vegas. If the word "arrogance" ever needed a revised definition it would have to be O. J. Simpson.

When will it ever end and when will O. J. Simpson finally get his due? With this latest skirmish with the law, it is a certainty that O. J. Simpson will not be going anywhere anytime soon be it at home or abroad.
