Acid rain and the environment

Acid Rain and its effect on the Future
"Environment is the combination of external physical conditions that affect and influence the growth, development, and survival of organisms". As environment makes our surrounding which makes the world, our environment is very precious. However, the modern generation often does take the time to worry about the environment. Environmentally related people fear that acid rain causes damages to our environment. Acid rain is caused when the burning of fossil fuels releases sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. These oxides get transported in the atmosphere over distances of hundreds to thousands of kilometers.

Back in the fifties, acidification of the water led to disappearance of aquatic animals and widespread damage to plant and animal life. The most sensitive groups include fish, lichens, mosses, certain fungi and small aquatic animals. As of today, the acid rain is damaging historical monuments like Taj Mahal and environment. Acid rain therefore is a threat for our future. We should protect our future by establishing effective programs against acid rain.
"I looked out in wonder at new fallen snow
then thought to myself, it's acidic you know.
This wonder, this cleanser, this skier's delight,
this mantle of brightness, this purity white,
this wintery thing that sets children aglow
hides one little thing, it's acidic you know."
-Kenton M. Stewart, "Acidic Snow"
The famous poem by Kenton, "Acidic snow" tells the truth of the earth in western countries. In the above lines the author tells that he looks out at snow, but no longer can be excited about it, as it is acidic. He is wondering about how this acidic snow going to affect the aquatic organisms.
Causes:
There are several things which produce acid rain. "The major contribution to acid rain is reported to be done to nitrogen dioxide (~30%) and to sulphur component (~70%) though contribution to the acidity to tropical rain from other sources such as organic acids" ( review.579).These gases are the components that cayse acid rain. They are in large quantities from a variety of industries to the atmosphere. In addition to industries this type of pollution is produced by many other sources.
The main source of nitrogen dioxide emissions is the combustion of fuels in Motor vehicles, residential, and industrial engines combust fuels and emits nitrogen dioxide. Nitrogen oxides are formed by the reaction of nitrogen gas in the combustion air in the presence of oxygen. As the temperature of
