"What's wrong with you Jenna?" Lisa asked.
"I saw you two in the hallway." Jenna continued to reach for her History book that was on the top shelf of her locker.
"Jenna it was nothing. I didn't mean to. But I like him too." Lisa started to walk towards her next class.
"Just to let you know," Jenna yelled,"we're no longer friends."
Lisa said nothing and continued walking.
Lisa approached the classroom. She saw the boy of her dreams, which coincidently was also her best friend's and many other's in school. His name was Mark Peters. Also known as the hottest jock in junior high. Lisa gave him a glance then soon as she saw that he noticed her, she pretended to be into her text book. She pulled back her long brown hair into a ponytail and began to daydream.
It was 9:45am in the morning when Mark sneaked up behind Lisa as she closed her locker door.
"Hey Lisa, what's going on? I see we have the next class together. I always see you in class. It looks like you study hard."
"I don't study too hard. I'm not a geek or anything like that."
"Oh, I didn't mean it like that Lisa. That's your name, right? I like that you are into books just like I'm into football." Mark pulled himself closer to her locker.
"Yeah, I'm Lisa. And your? Oh yeah, Mark." Lisa acted as if she never noticed him before. But the truth was she knew every class that he took and stared at him every lunch period. Sometimes she and Jenna would even follow him part way home after school.
"Ha ha. Very funny. I just came by because I wanted to see if you're doing anything after school? We could go get a slice at Gio's or something."
" I don't know. My friend might get mad. She likes you a lot." Lisa avoided eye contact.
"But I like you."
Mark grabbed Lisa's hand and kissed her softly on the lips. Lisa's heart was beating so hard she thought she was going to throw up. Her lips tingled as Mark began to walk away.
"So I'll meet you by the gym!"
Lisa turned around and saw Jenna putting a few folders into her book-bag. She slowly approached her friend's locker with the tingle still stuck to her lips.
