Truck driver's poetry
The road has many bends and hills... To stay awake I'm popping pills.
Watch for smokies, can't make no time... They think I'm committing a crime.
There must be a better job out there... Than driving all night and watching for bear.
At destinations, when I arrive... I began to come alive.
All wired up, can't sleep at all... A good night's sleep, I can't recall.
Now I'm home and winding down... She comes out in a evening gown.
She's been cooking a five course meal... I just got out from behind the wheel.
Get cleaned up, the road was steel... We fell asleep, before the meal.
