I watched the moon landings. To say that they were a hoax is some clever way for an author to make money, like the book in the 1980's, stipulating that Elvis was really alive-trying to add reality to it by stating that Elvis was a DEA agent, and that there was a deliberate misspelling of his middle name on his tombstone to prove it. Please...people wake up! Sometimes a moon landing really is a moon landing.
I heard all of the theories on why and how the moon landing was faked. None of them held water. Yes, it was in the middle of the Cold War, and the Americans had to be the first to be on the moon. The Soviets would have known that the Americans faked it, proclaiming that fact to the world. This was the era when the Americans were embroiled in Viet-Nam, fighting a Soviet armed, supplied and trained North Viet-Namese and the Americans and Soviets were embroiled in a proxy war in the Mid-East: the US aiding Israel, the Soviets aiding the Egyptians and Syrians in a long-drawn out war of attrition that proceeded the 1973 Yom Kippur war. The Soviets were equally as sophisticated as the Americans in space matters and definitely would have trumpeted a hoax to the world...remember this was the Cold War.
Besides, there was enormous talent behind the American space program to the moon, (some of them regretably coming from ex-Nazi rocket scientists via 'Project Paperclip'), and from Canada, where Canadian scientists and engineers had already created the fastest and most sophisticated jet in the world, the Avro-Arrow, unmatched for decades. Such a program was scrapped by the Canadian Conservative Diefenbaker government-causing many of them to come to work for NASA, bringing that incredible talent with them. There was such a pool of talent that landing on the moon could easily have become a reality.
Author Jules Verne wrote a fantastic story about an inhabited projectile being fired at the moon, long before any attempts to land there. The story was very fictional, but there was already a growing pool of knowledge and informed speculation about possible manned flight to the moon. The drive to get there and the knowledge to do it just became so infinitely advanced as the decades passed and manned flight and rocketry became a reality.
I also believe the USA flag from one of the moon landings was photographed many years later. Skeptics saying it was impossible to cross Earth's Van Allen radiation belts without being fried were easily discounted, for the astronauts had relatively safe 'gaps' and 'pathways' through the belts where there was little or no radiation, and had sufficient shielding against it. Riduculous arguments about discrepancies in lunar photography (basically stating that they had the 'feel' of studio-work were disputed). Additional statements about the so-called moon landing hoax being lensed at the infamous 'Area 51' is another laughable argument. We can all say "disinformation", can't we? Skeptics of the moon landing, give it up! Common sense and a little research will easily prove that it really happened.
Believing that the moon landing never happened is like being the equivalent of those flat-Earth people that used to be around. Where did they go, again? Oh yes, they walked off the edge of the flat-Earth. Yikes! I better be careful walking too close to the edge of the Earth! Better be careful when I'm sailing close to the distant horizon!
