Florida is a state where families flock all year long for much needed vacations. In addition to around 800 miles of pristine beaches, Florida hosts multiple premier theme parks and a huge number of possible outdoor activities, including scuba diving, fishing, and surfing. The diverse choice of activities and lodging makes Florida the ultimate vacation for families. Florida has something to offer for everyone. Its long and interesting past make it a great place for those interested in history. The vast national parks and large number of possible outdoor activities will please nature and adventure buffs. The many theme parks will satisfy the whole family. The time of year that you visit will in part determine everything from the weather to the crowds so I'll include some tips on finding the best time of year for you to visit. With the right amount of planning and knowledge, you can create a wonderful vacation whose memories you'll cherish for years to come.
Florida has an abundant amount of possible outdoor activities. The many marinas offer activities from deep sea fishing trips to cruise ship tours. Florida's many pristine and sometimes secluded beaches are perfect for relaxing vacations. Scuba diving in the clear waters offer a chance to see the exotic undersea wildlife and habitat. Fishing is very popular in Florida. From fresh water fishing in the many huge lakes to deep sea fishing, the numerous species of fish can fulfill any fisher's dream. Florida's tropical weather and abundant wildlife creates an ideal environment for both hiking and nature watching.
If Florida's natural resources aren't exiting enough for you, its many premiere theme parks will be. Mostly located near the center of the state, these theme parks are for all ages. The famous Walt Disney World was opened in the 1970's but the steady flow of vacationers has allowed it to keep up with the newest rides and entertainment technologies. Nearby Universal Orlando also have cutting edge interactive attractions and hair raising roller coasters. Busch and Cypress Gardens both offer thrill rides, botanical gardens, and many animal attractions. NASA's Kennedy Space Center is the home of the historic space agency as well as many space and aeronautic museums. Sea World and Epcot Center are great theme parks that offer top quality rides and shows with Sea World focused on underwater life and Epcot Center focusing on innovations and the future.
Florida is a great place to visit all year round but you will find it less crowded at certain times of the year. Spring Break is a very busy time when thousands of college students flock to party between school semesters. While the weather in Florida is mostly good throughout the year, during the tornado season the weather can get a bit unsettling for vacationers. To escape the crowds though, visitors might risk a bit of bad weather to enjoy less crowded beaches and theme parks. Another good tip to keep in mind is that it is likely to be much more crowded during typical vacation times, such as during the summer break for schools and during the spring.
Florida is an awesome place. There are so many possible places to visit and experience that they couldn't possibly be put into a short article. Theme parks, fishing, scuba diving, surfing, pristine beaches and historic towns are just a few of the great places for families to relax and experience a state that is known for its many fantastic vacation spots. With a little planning and knowledge, your family too can learn why Florida is the ultimate family experience.
