Those of us who own a cell phone know of its main function: making phone calls! Cell phones these days not only make calls, but can take pictures, track a sibling or child through GPS, access the internet, and plenty of other applications. Fortunately, there is still room for more applications that your phone can handle. Companies such as Motorola and Nokia are willing to pay for newer applications in order to profit from it.
What if I told you that your phone could access the internet the same speed as DSL or you could use your phone to make transactions at grocery stores or the mall? How about using your phone as a full fledged GPS system like the products Garmin produces? What about a 6-megapixel camera built into your phone that actually takes pictures like that 6-megapixel camera you may have bought months ago?
All these possibilities are already being put into effect by many cell phone manufacturers. Why buy a GPS when you can get a phone with the same capabilities as a PDA, GPS, and smartphone combined? We all will be asking that question one day, but until then we can only experience the growth of our technology industry. Lots of money is to be made in these industries, don't you want a piece of the action?
