Should all sex offenders have to register

groping women; to burglary of women's residences.

Still think just the "predators" should be required to register?

Let's discuss incest offenders. Men or Women, in some cases, who sexually abuse their own family members. Sometimes a father will tell one daughter, usually the older/oldest one, that it is their "secret". That she is his favorite. He "grooms" her. He begins just by cuddling with her on the couch. Then he may casually let his hand fall onto her chest, or maybe the edge of her bottom, depending on his preferences. But he never looks at her when he does this, he acts like he fell asleep watching the TV. The next time he'll do it, but just keep watching TV. She may feel uncomfortable, but she's getting all this attention and affection from Daddy. She doesn't want to do anything to upset that, so she keeps quiet. And so it goes. This goes on for months in some cases. Slowly, oh so slowly escalating. Until finally, Daddy comes to her room some night, but instead of the cuddling, of the back rub, or the touching under her nightgown, Daddy finally penetrates her, or asks her to touch him. After all, she's his special girl. From there, it a very short step to actual intercourse.

If she balks, Daddy has several weapons to hold over her head. He can threaten to withdraw his love and affection. He can point out to her that although what he's been doing was a private thing, just between them, if Mom found out, she'd be Really Mad. At HER. Or he can threaten to take up with her little Sister. With these kinds of threats, is it any wonder so many Daughters never tell?

Then they get to adulthood, and something is said by one of the girls, and it all comes out in the open...Daddy was abusing ALL the daughters. So much for keeping silent to protect your Sisters.

Then of course there are the Uncles and Brothers, and Cousins and Grandfathers who abuse the girls and boys in the family. Sometimes it's a one-time event. Sometimes it's an on-going tribulation that lasts for years.

Each and every perpetrator of ANY kind of Sexual Offense needs to be required to register with the Authorities. We, the parents, the women, the potential next victims, need to know where these criminals live.
