Life lessons from martial arts

I was going to do, namely cut off the guys hand, the more I thought this is NOT a very good idea?!

First of all, if you've never deliberately cut anybody else with a weapon, before; then, I assure you, it's certainly not a very easy thing to do; especially, if you do allow yourself to think, very carefully, about what you are going to do.

Secondly, if I went and cut off his whole hand; then, there is no way he is going to, quite suddenly, forget?! Instead, he is going to remember me possibly for all the rest of his entire life; and, he is going to want revenge. Furthermore, this guy knows exactly where I live; both he and his relatives/friends/-etc. would have no problem locating me, and, finding me, again; then, seek to obtain their revenge.

Thirdly, if I did succeed in cutting off his hand; then, the police would, most probably, send 'me' to jail/and, not 'him'; because, an argument could be made against me that I had gone and totally over-reacted.

Fourthly, I have a conscience, and, I wouldn't want to have to go around for all the rest of my entire life worrying about what I'd gone and done to this poor fellow; which, I'm sure, would haunt me endlessly all the way straight down into my grave; even if I did manage to get away with it all for free.

Fifth, there is the religious thing where you are meant to love your enemy; and, not hate them; by always aiming to forgive; after all, nobody is perfect; and, therefore, we are all fully capable of making mistakes; in my time, I've made a few big mistakes, too.

To cut a long story short, I gave up thinking of cutting his whole entire hand off. And, started thinking to myself why not cut off a single finger, instead. After all, this person is threating my home/my property/and, who knows maybe, even my life/or even, my family's life...why the hell should he be able to get away with it with absolutely no action being taken against him?! After all, if it were me putting my hand in through other people's doors/letterboxes; and, somebody had caught me at it totally red-handed; I very much doubt they would have let me get away with it ever so easily!

But, then, again, once more the restraining thoughts came back...; I've never cut off anybody's hand/or, finger before...; so, how the hell am I going to do that now?!

Another thought came, instead, of cutting any body part off, permanently; why not just cut him; and, thus, leave him scarred for life. Then, the thought came, I never cut anyone before, at least, not deliberately.
