The fact that O. J. Simpson is making headlines yet once again due to unlawful activity is no surprise to anyone. It is the belief that O. J. Simpson will go to jail this time primarily because he does not have the funds available to afford an elaborate defense team to ensure his freedom.

If you look at the very reason why he was in that hotel room to begin with sheds a lot of light as to Mr. Simpson's financial status these days. Granted he was there because he believed that his memorabilia had been stolen. However, the way in which he went about it gives pause for us to raise our eyebrows at Mr. Simpson yet once again. Did O. J. Simpson truly believe that the police would not help him due to his past purported criminal activity as he claimed, or does O. J. Simpson truly believe he is above the law because he managed to be acquitted in the deaths of his wife and male companion well over 10 years ago? I would guess it is the latter of the two. His arrogance throughout the entire ordeal during that time speaks for itself.

The incident in Las Vegas shows us a man who has become desperate. With his recent book rights being bought and held by the Goldman family & the dissolution of any possible profit from that venture, his money making avenues have all but been exhausted. It shows us once again just what lengths Mr. Simpson will go to ensure he doesn't lose it all. If someone is capable of murder and can get away with it, then robbery must pale in comparison.

Was he just a victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Simpson may make such claims. Unlike in his first escapade with law enforcement well over 10 years ago, there is an audio tape this time that links him to the scene of the crime. It has what sounds like O. J. Simpson's voice ordering everyone around in that hotel room. If in fact that was O. J. Simpson's voice, there would be little room for doubt he was the mastermind behind the whole charade and was in complete control of the situation as it unfolded. It no longer matters whether the memorabilia truly was stolen from O. J. Simpson. If Mr. Simpson had any interest in redeeming himself in the eyes of society or law enforcement, he would have elected to go through proper channels in order to relinquish not only his personal belongings but some of his dignity and reputation as well. This time O. J. Simpson has lost far more than some valuable collectibles.

O. J. Simpson is no longer looked at as the once famous professional football player"The Juice" as some referred to him. His days of fame in that regard have long been over. No, O. J. Simpson is now viewed as the man who skirted the law once and if early sign are any indication will attempt to do so again. He has shown society that if one has enough money their way can be bought out of anything. Only this time, O. J. Simpson may not be so lucky.
