Absolutely not! I feel this would just promote the idea that money is the the main goal and objective in life. What about the pride of personal accomplishment as the reward? When one achieves a goal the result should feel like a personal success and produce the feeling of confidence. What kind of message would cash rewards send? We do not need to provide yet another means to produce more shallow and materialistic youth and future adults. We,as a society, are already to money focused. Greed, stress and ego are all results of placing to much emphasis on the almighty dollar. Everyone expects to gain something monetarily as proof of their success. When a student earns high grades or test scores they should feel rewarded with knowledge and self-esteem. That feeling of "I did it" stays with a person and helps them develop and become better citizens. If they continue to perform well academically, they will earn much deserved scholarships so they can easily continue to receive a valuable education. Let's promote a feeling of pride and self-esteem, not greed and materialism, so our youth can grow up to be healthy and well adjusted individuals, not stressed out greedy money centered people that are always trying to be rewarded with the next buck!
