There is certainly a need to get out of the ordinary. Too many people in the world are too comfortable in their own little circles that they forget there is an entire world out there that lives a different life, speaks a different language but shares this beautiful planet with us. These people not only are missing out on a wealth of information that one cannot learn from text books, they are also not experiencing the rich cultural diversity naturally exist in this world. They become narrow minded, and prejudiced against those that they consider to be different without knowing exactly why.
Getting out of the ordinary also makes us more aware and appreciate what is ordinary. What we consider 'normal' or 'standard' maybe a luxury in parts of the world, and a lot of us don't realise just how lucky we are in sense of material possessions that we lose sight of how happy a simple life can really be. A child brought up with luxury will never learn the importance of being able to have friends around in a park to kick a soccer ball, nor how lucky they are able to go to school when millions of children worldwide cannot afford to go or have domestic duties that prevent them from going.
Getting out of the ordinary also means we get to see how the rest of the world lives their lives, how every one of us in fact have the same growing pains, the same relationship issues, same parental issues and no one in the world is more superior than the other. As we grow to understand one another, we grow to appreciate one another and why certain things just don't go with certain cultures. Understanding that will make us more tolerant of each other and ultimately create a world with more love and compassion.
Get out of the ordinary. See the world. Don't express hatred for something that you've never seen or never experienced. The world is a beautiful place with beautiful people, each with their individual identities, each with their individual culture and tradition. In the end, this is a global village, and we all owe ourselves to the miracle of nature and life.
