Poetry: Mistakes

Words of Sympathy

It seems like it was just yesterday
That I saw that warm smile on your face
How long was it ago
That you left me so alone
In this empty world

I know I haven't been there
I'm so sorry, but I know
Now it's too late for words of sympathy
I've hurt you so much without realizing
That it had made you this way

Even if I collected all my tears
And replenish your once soft face
It's never going to be the same
And if I drew my blood
And run it through your veins
You won't rise to be with me again

I was so caught up in my own world
I forgot what was important to me
Now with you gone
I can barely carry on
Taking steps that's not even worth taking

Until tonight I realize
That it was because of you
That I was able to do everything
But I was so blind
I only saw what I wanted
And never had any time for you

Prayers can't help me now
And neither can you
I'm so sorry, I should have known
That without you I would just wither away

    To Err

    To err is human,
    to forgive divine
    But why do the errs
    always have to be mine?

    It's hard to be perfect
    right all the time
    and

A mistake is only an illusion of fear still
