I love the arcade. I always have and I always will. When I'm 99 you'll see me and my grandkids in an arcade trying to get coupons/tickets. When I found out about DDR I was ecstatic. A way to play my favorite games without all the pointing and laughing. I rushed out to buy it. I love this game. I love everything about it. But let me warn you it is hard!
Fist the basics for all the non-DDR players. The object of the game is to hit the hit the correct button as it passes a particular point on the screen. It might seem easy when you say it but the catch is that you play with your feet and you have to "dance to the beat.
That said Dance Dance Revolution is a great way to get active. With many speeds and a tutorial to make sure you know how to work the game. I took this home with me and both my parents (my mom is 49 and my dad is 57) and they both loved the game (my dad made me leave my ENTIRE PS2 system just so he could keep playing).
On the other hand it can get boring after a while since, even though there are more songs to unlock, it becomes repetitive if you are anything like me (I play the same songs over and over again at different levels). But don not get me wrong it takes a long time to get bored and usually by the time that happens a new one is out.
The only thing that would make this game better would be if Konami could somehow take it on-line and have it so that an on-line community could somehow make their own challenges to their own music. That would be amazing and you could do something different everyday.
All in all it is a fabulous game. I say buy it, it will be worth it.
