Easter sunday, a day of joy and blessings, and on this very special Easter I really found my heart getting tugged at. I was sitting at a table with a bunch of close adult friends, something I don't do very often around holiday times. Granted, from now on, that's where I'll be. You see, I found myself in a very interesting discussion about the Bible and Christianity as a whole. I learned alot, but the main thing that I really found sticking out to me was definately the issue of how to over come those irritating and often burdenous habits we see in ourselves daily. We went around the table and everyone kept giving the same answers. Oh, well it's hard, it feels good, and even one of those "I just cant's" popped up! All present knew that the one way to over come there problems was to turn to God and work through it slowly, but on the other hand everyone also realized that life is hard, and in most cases who really thinks about just turning to God and dropping all other things to get somethin strait. That's when one of the ladies sitting at the table suggested another way out. She said simply," why don't you try just stopping and looking around". We all had puzzled looks on our faces so she explained hesrelf. She asked all of us when the last time was that we just stopped what we were doing and took a second to look around to see what's happenin. Often times we are so busy getting caught up in what we wanna do or struggle with we miss the thousand other people that are on the side that if we stopped to talk to, we may make a change in.
I want to encourage all the people who read this to think about it. The next time you find yourself worried about what's gonna happen tomorrow, stop look at today and find someone who needs encouragement. Or, the next time you find yourself worried about something that is gonna happen tonight, or tomorrow or next week, take a second to look around now and see how God can use you. You would be surprised just hpw much he can use you and how many things he helps you work through in the process!
