Can newly acquired Kevin Garnett lead the Boston Celtics to an NBA title in the 07/08
season the answer is no. I believe they will come close but lose in the eastern conference finals. Kevin Garnett is not a leader, in terms of leadership he will be third on this team. Paul Pierce has been the main guy in Boston for 10 years and will remain the leader. Ray Allen will bring a calm and maturity on and off the court. Garnett is known to fight with some teammates and intimidate others.

In the last 15 years in the NBA no team has won a championship without it's nucleus being together for at least 2 years. Detroit added Rasheed Wallace in a mid-season trade but Chauncey Billups,Tayshaun Prince, Ben Wallace, and Rip Hamilton had already been together for a couple of years. In the NBA more than any other league it takes a couple of years for teams to gel.

The main reason why the Celtics will struggle is their awfully thin supporting cast around the big three. James Posey will be a great addition off the bench as a sixth man. The worry on this team will be starting point guard Rajon Rondo and starting center Kendrick Perkins. Neither player is a proven NBA commodity and both will struggle to succeed under the limelight. Can Kevin Garnett lead this team to a NBA championship this year not even if he plays every game with a four leaf clover in his socks.
