Morally she shouldn't be getting paid $1,000,000 as(lets face it)an ex-con. She broke the law more than once (driving over the alcohol limit and driving without a license) and she is a criminal. How many criminals do you know that get paid a million dollars for a little interview. But we live in a totally immoral world obsessed with sex and celebrities. If in the front page of your newspaper there is a story about which Hollywood star has slept with who last night instead of how many lives were lost at Iraq or what the situation is with global warming then you know the world is insane. Sex and controversy sells and millions of people the world over have no self respect left. All they see is $$$$ in front of their eyes and if they have to offend and hurt other people so be it. Look after number 1 is the worst advice ever given.
If NBC are prepared to give Paris a million dollars and they think it is worth it then so be it. I will not be one of the people watching. Paris Hilton is a selfish, arrogant attention seeking spoilt little brat and if the rumours are true that her grandfather cut her out of his will even her own relatives think so too.
I just don't see why anybody is interested in what Paris has to say. Don't people realise she is going to say what everyone wants her to say-"she is reformed, she has changed her ways blah blah blah"- All she will do is go on the tele and lie like hell-just as she did with the Larry King interview. For her its like "oh look at little me on television with millions of people watching I'm the centre of attention oh goody goody". This is not envy speaking-I am not jealous of celebrities life and money. there are plenty of rich and famous people that I love and respect but they handle themselves with discipline and pride. OK nobody's perfect we all make mistakes and regret we made them. But when those mistakes are repeated over and over again with an uncaring and selfish attitude it gets a bit too much. I was very happy to hear that she was given jail time not because I hate her or anything like that. Just that she deserved it. For far too long celebrities have been getting away with just a slap on the wrist just because they are somebody. Perfect examples are O.J Simpson, Michael Jackson and for the conspiracy theorists we can go as far as Prince Albert was Jack the Ripper and literally got away with murder.
We are not talking about a hero or somebody that has saved countless lives through their selfless action. Neither are we talking about somebody that has suffered a personal tragedy through no fault of their own. We are talking about a person that lost her car license because she drove her car while under the influence of alcohol. In other words she was endangering peoples lives! Yeah sure why not lets give her a million dollars.
Paris Hilton is famous for being famous, she is nothing special either in the good looks department or the talent department. She doesn't deserve a million dollars and she shouldn't be getting a million dollars. But television rules in the the 21st century and as long as sheepish morons watch the unintelligent TV shows the networks program we will be brainwashed into the 22nd century.
